Aftermath: Though Got-LAN #25 was smaller because of the short notice and price rise (had to happen sorry guys) it was still a lot of fun. Because of the decrease in numbers overnight we opened up the internet and had some fun online. Cheers to all those who turned up! Next LAN: 2nd April (Easter weekend) The future: Upgrades: Over future LAN's we will be upgrading our network in multiple area's. Our next purchase will be a Smoothwall firewall box to control the internet usage better keeping it usable for everyone. Prizes: Though there is a few more LAN's to go before we'll have some prizes, it is coming! |

Got-LAN #25: Dates: 29th - 30th of January Times: 6pm (Friday) - 6pm (Saturday) Seats: 70+ Cost: $25 (at the door) Sign up: Here The Price Rise: Until now we have been running at cost, pretty much exactly on it. We have decided its time to start upgrading and adding to our event. This allows us to do things such as upgrade our network to gigabit and add prizes to our competitive LAN's (about 1 in 4). Short notice: This is unlike us, to announce a LAN on such short notice, but this is the only time we could get the venue between now and the 2nd of April (the next LAN date!). Next LAN: 2nd of April Internet: We have the internet for low bandwidth applications ONLY. This includes the likes of steam authentication, steam chat, MSN and checking your emails. It is NOT for online gaming (currently) or downloading. This includes running your torrents. Make sure you have no downloads running before you leave to our LAN. If you are caught downloading you will be kicked out and BANNED from future Got-LAN's. Steam: Please make sure all your games are up to date before you leave. We have internet for steam authentication but it is NOT for updating. R16: Due to legal reasons we are a R16 event. Alcohol Free
Due to the nature of Got-LAN's and there being minor's around we are an alcohol free event. |

Got-LAN is undergoing a few changes in 2010. Firstly, we say a sad farewell to Regan (aka Seihava) as he heads up to Auckland for Work/Study. Though he has promised to fly down when he can to catch up! On a lighter note, we welcome 2 new additions to our admin team: Charles (aka Crazed) and David (aka ddwagnz). We are currently working to get a date to kick Got-LAN off into 2010! |

Got-LAN #23 started EARILY! Thats right, around 5 attendee's turned up 30mins before we opened. Luckily we were ready and could let them in. (A warning for those who turned up early though, we will not always be ready for you and if we are not we will not let you in!) It was one of our smaller LAN's but still fun, our attendee count totaled 21. Thanks to Jan (Pronounced Yarn, Correct me if i'm wrong) we had a managed 24 port gigabit switch which keep the network nice and speedy! It will quite probably be at future events as well! On other news I will be implementing a new module to the site which is a photo gallery over the next couple of weeks (when i get some free time) to show off all the photos we have of the event. We have already set the date for the next Got-LAN, it will be held on the 2nd - 3rd of October same place, usual time (6pm). We will not be double booked again. If you get a chance please jump on the forums and post some feedback/idea's for future LAN's, we'd like you hear what you have to say. |
